Te Hiku Hauora - Kaitaia - Far North

The Larks
An exercise and cardiac support group which meets every Wednesday morning, 9 - 10 am at Unipol gym. It includes low impact aerobics, weights and stretching, and optional cuppa afterwards at the café. Regular social events as well. Everyone is welcome, $4.00 per session, pay as you go. Phase lll



The Otago Phoenix Club
The club is a registered charity. The purposes of the Club are: a) To support cardiac rehabilitation for people affected by cardiovascular disease and/or a cardiac event in their return to active life and the maintenance of a healthy lifestyle, and particularly through supervised exercise in a supportive environment (Phase 3 Cardiac Rehabilitation provided since 1968). b) To support cardiac education and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle using evidence-based guidelines. c) To support cardiac-related research particularly relating to the management and support of people who have experienced a cardiac event and to encourage participation in this research by invitation and consent. d) To support other organizations sharing similar purposes, including other cardiac rehabilitation groups in Dunedin and the Otago Branch of Heart Foundation New Zealand. The club provides for its members and their support person: • Monday and Thursday evenings, cardiac exercise and table tennis sessions between 7 and 8 pm, at the Fraser Centre lifestyle gym, Dunedin. These sessions are managed and supervised by physiotherapists. • Annual CPR training. • Peer group support. • Social outings. Membership • Membership by application is open to those who have completed a rehabilitation programme following a heart event. • Have a doctor’s referral that indicates the prospective member is able to participate in the exercise programme being offered. • The 2020 annual membership subscription is $30.00. University of Auckland Health and Rehabilitation Clinic
We provide cardiac rehabilitation exercise services for those recovering from recent events and for those living with chronic cardiovascular diseases. Our services are individualized to meet your unique needs and health status. Healthy Hearts Programme. A 6-week education and exercise programme for cardiac patients, following hospital admission with heart attack and/or heart surgery. Individual assessment with experienced Cardiac Nurses and supervised group exercise session, home-based exercise programme and support. Phase II
