Optimize Health offer specialised exercise assessment and rehabilitation for cardiovascular disease. Weekly low-aerobic exercise programme. Peer group support and occasional social gatherings. Tues and Thurs 10 -11 am, suits all levels and can also be done seated on a chair for those with disabilities; and Wed at 10 am for those with a higher fitness level. All welcome, pay as you go. $2.00. Phase III

Free education programme for all cardiac patients and support people. Individual education and discussion, telephone consultation, home visits if necessary, group education and supervised exercise programme. Six week course, five courses run during the year. Phase II.


Taumarunui Cardiac Club
Gym-based Heart Support Group. Two sessions per week. Tuesday & Friday 10am-11am. One hour of gentle exercise (warm-up and stretches, light cardio circuit, light weights on gym equipment, cool-down with swiss balls and more stretches). Each session is $5. Phase III


Taupo Hospital
Individualised cardiac rehabilitation session. Referral through DHB or GP/nurse. Ongoing individualised community-based support with diet/exercise referred to exercise consultant/dietician at Pinnacle Midland Health. Phase II

Tauranga Hospital
Healthy Hearts Programme. A 6-week education and exercise programme for cardiac patients, following hospital admission with heart attack and/or heart surgery. Free to cardiac patients. Tuesday or Wednesday 9.00am - 12noon. Individual assessment with experienced Cardiac Nurses and supervised group exercise session, home-based exercise programme and support. Phase II
